Soi Bukhao Opens Up

Soi Bukhao is growing on me.
It has a unique charm, and most of its businesses, of all descriptions, believe in competitive pricing, which accounts for its increasing popularity with expat residents and the Old Guard of Pattaya Tourists.
A few years ago there were only two access roads between Soi Bukhao and Second Road, which made getting between the two a major pain. I am also pretty sure the last time I walked down Soi Skaw Beach there was no car access to Soi Bukhao, although that was a while ago.

So I was surprised to see on a recent walk that the waste ground between Soi Bukhao and Soi Skaw Beach has been flattened, and that cars, motorbikes and people were driving and walking over the dirt, crossing between Second Road and Soi Bukhao, like it was a main road.

Hopefully this track will be upgraded to a proper road, bringing easier access to and from Soi Bukhao.
Going the other way
Although, thinking about it, with improved access may come hordes of mainstream tourists, with the risk that Soi Bukhao may end up being swamped in the same way Walking Street has been.
And where will everyone go then?
